Alyssa Khong Ying

Born in Penang, Alyssa was first introduced to the piano at the tender age of 2 by her grandmother and father. She received her first piano training at the age of 5 under Tann Ai Choo, and her violin training at the age of 7 under Tann Soon Pin. She continued to study the piano under Lim Chong Hin, Victor Kam, Raymond Tan and Saori Ninomiya. Her violin and viola teachers were Brian Tan Wee Thean, Yasufumi Shimano and Brian Larson. She participated in violin masterclasses conducted by Miranda Fairplay and Orsolya Korcsolan, and piano masterclasses conducted by Albert Tiu.

Alyssa obtained both her piano and violin performance diplomas from London College of Music & Media (Dip LCM), her Associate in Recital Violin and Licentiate in Recital Solo Piano from the Trinity College of London. She was a member of PESSOC (Penang State Symphony Orchestra & Chorus) and Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. She also performs with Kester String Quartet.

She established Alyssa Musique in 2011 and is a pianist for Priscilla School of Dance. As an active member of Ensemble Koschka, she performs regularly and toured Japan with the group in 2010 to 2013.
